Peter’s submission, Charon, is a 32’ tall, 30’ wide and 20’ deep life-sized 3D stroboscopic zoetrope that was unveiled at the Burning Man Festival in 2011. It weighs more than 7 tons, and is truly a unique project that blends technology with art, using 56 bearings of varying sizes and types. With Charon receiving 2,113 votes, Peter wins an Apple iPad2 and is now eligible to win a grant check for $10,000 or a 3D printer from Makerbot Industries ($2,500 value). Winner of Boca Bearings Sponsored RC Event Hooter Chassis Outlaw Tour

The Hooter Chassis Outlaw Tour made our 6th stop of the season at the Rocky Grove VFD on Jan 21. Chad Proper held off the hard charging Justin Safran for the win in 21.5 Late Model, while Dave Ward took the win in 17.5 Sportsman Truck, Conor Mullen in 17.5 Open, Matt Steffenhagen in 13.5 Open and Kevin Brocki in 17.5 EDM. Kevin Brocki(photo attached) was also the lucky recipient of the Boca Bearing $50 Gift Certificate. Short track excitement will continue on Feb 18 at Lucky 13 Raceway in Cochranton, PA

Boca Bearings Customer Review: Fishing Reel Orange Seal Bearings

"Just a note regarding your Orange Seal bearings. I ordered a set for one of my Shimano Calcutta's recently just mostly to see if there would be a noticeable difference. Basically, the Calcutta's are extremely smooth reels anyway so I figured that would be a good test to see if the Orange Seal bearings were what they were supposed to be and if I felt they were worth the money. Well, as you can see I just sent you an order for the same bearings to replace those in the two other Calcutta's that I use. The bearings performed better than I had even imagined or hoped that they would.

I spent several years of my life as a fishing tackle factory rep and currently work part-time at the local Bass Pro store in the fishing department so I have had access to most of the products dealing with the fishing tackle industry over the years and still do. Occasionally, there are products that stand out in my mind as being outstanding products and your Orange Seal bearings certainly fit that category. Many thanks for a great product!!!"

"I have recently run these clutch bearings at a six hour enduro without
changing bearings,Track conditions were very harsh and dusty loose blown
out conditions and very hot 37c deg. The bearings ran very well without
any issues and still felt very smooth as when they were
installed. These are an excellent choice for the average basher to
racer and as a racer I feel they will be reliable and provide me with
performance I am looking for."

Boca Bearings Customer Review: High Speed Oil

"Wow, the Lightning lube High Speed Oil is fantastic!

In Free Flight competition models we use a special clockwork timer that shuts the engines off amongst other important functions. These timers are very finicky in regards to oils used to lubricate them.

At a recent meet I was able to demonstrate the qualities of Boca Bearings High Speed Oil. The timers oiled with the so-called "special oil" ran 20 seconds per revolution and slowed down within 4 minutes of run time.

Cleaned and re-lubed with your oil the timers ran a consistent 15 seconds per revolution and run time extended to a full 7 minutes which is a healthy safety margin for our use."
